Welcome to our final wrap-up for the year. 

We have some exciting plans ahead: a film screening in Sydney, more podcasts, and potentially even a book (watch this space!). We've also heard your feedback about the frequency of this wrap-up. In 2025, we'll be shifting to fortnightly updates.

State of Gender-wise Giving Survey
Australians Investing In Women released its second annual State of Gender-wise Giving Survey, highlighting philanthropy's progress and challenges in addressing gender equity, noting that it will take 134 years globally to achieve gender equality. Read the whole report here.

🐮Can Seaweed Save the Planet One Cow Burp at a Time?
Fremantle Seaweed is developing a groundbreaking solution to reduce methane emissions from livestock by using red seaweed (asparagopsis). By adding a small amount of this seaweed to cattle feed, they can potentially reduce methane emissions by up to 80%, offering a promising nature-based approach to mitigating greenhouse gas emissions in the agricultural sector.

🏝️Barbados Debt-for-Climate Conversion
Barbados has pioneered a groundbreaking Debt-for-Climate swap, partnering with the Inter-American Development Bank, European Investment Bank, and Green Climate Fund to finance water resource management and climate resilience without incurring additional debt. 👩🏻‍🏫Post-Growth Entrepreneurship with Melanie Rieback
Melanie Rieback, a Friend of Maslow, was conducting her Post-Growth Entrepreneurship Roadshow at Manchester Metropolitan University, engaging diverse audiences through talks on sustainable, non-extractive business models. During her tour, which included a feature on the Denizen, she explored entrepreneurship as a form of social activism, collaborating with educators and researchers to launch a Special Interest Group (SIG) focused on Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Education for a Sustainable Society, with plans for future events and continued advocacy for progressive business approaches.

🖼️Image Economies: Art in the Digital Age
Monash University Museum of Art's newest exhibit explores the impact of digital technologies on image-making, identity, and cultural practices. Featuring works from 18 artists, it examines themes of self-representation, consumerism, and the accessibility of cultural knowledge within the digital age. The exhibition also includes a free community launch party. Exhibit opens February 8 2024. Find out more here

Kane's not slowing down
Despite still actively recovering from surgery, Kane's been keeping busy, mostly on LinkedIn, although there was a quick trip to Sydney to admire a community garden, visit me and have some important meetings with friends of Maslow.
