While the timing might seem challenging – right after Melbourne Cup and during the US Election – I'm committed to highlighting stories that illuminate financial equality challenges and celebrate innovative solutions from around the world. While we'll address important human rights issues that impact financial equality, we'll leave the US political updates to others.

🐟Sustainable Investment Exchange helps the skate make history!
At Woolworths' AGM last week, SIX put up a resolution to save the Maugean skate and received a 30% vote supporting the resolution. This is a historically high vote for a shareholder resolution. (read more) 
I'm excited to see what SIX achieves with their next campaigns. 

🪃Australian Sustainable Finance Summit
At last week's Australian Sustainable Finance Summit, it was announced that First Nations Projects Group (FNPG) and The Australian Sustainable Finance Institute have created a new partnership. These two groups are coming together to develop partnerships with industry and government on major projects. Here's some other insights from the event:

⌛ICYMI: Anti-Poverty week 13-19 October
Poverty is an increasing issue across Australia, more than 13.4% of Australians are living below the poverty line. Anti-Poverty Week have collected fast facts here. Friend of Maslow Jenny Rolfe-Wallace shared some illuminating content across the week. Including: 

• The Choice violence or poverty: A report into Domestic violence and its consequences in Australia today 

• Rates of child poverty in Australia have increased post-covid
